Whether your mental health problems are pre-existing or new, Swarthmore offers some resources to help support you during your time here.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-255f338 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"255f338\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)<\/h5><p>CAPS is located inside the Worth Health Center, \u00a0directly to the left of the Benjamin West Parking Lot. While you are at Swarthmore, your student health insurance will cover appointments with counseling services. If you choose to seek medication, your student insurance will likely cover the majority of the costs. Depending on your medication you may pay less than~$5 for treatment. If your medication becomes too expensive, you may ask your provider to switch or change your treatment.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Students will be able to request appointments <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/counseling-and-psychological-services\/caps-appointment-request\">here<\/a> beginning August 22, 2022. Office hours will resume on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. \u00a0You can read their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/counseling-and-psychological-services\/faqs\">FAQ<\/a> here.\u00a0<\/p><h5>TalkSpace\u00a0<\/h5><p>Swarthmore College has partnered with Talkspace, where\u00a0students can access licensed therapists through video, text, and voice messaging, and licensed psychiatrists through video.\u00a0 Counselors offer support and guidance through talk therapy, and cannot prescribe medication. Psychiatrists and nurse practitioners are licensed medical providers who specialize in mental health treatment and can provide personalized medication management.
